Built in Hartford. For the Carriers That Keep America Insured.
Claimflint was founded in 2024 by Nathan Brennan — a claims technologist who spent six years inside carrier workflow systems, watching the same leakage problem accumulate at every regional carrier he worked with.
Hartford Is Where Insurance Was Built. The Claims Problem Hasn't Changed.
Hartford, Connecticut has been the center of American insurance for more than 200 years. The industry's foundational institutions grew up here, on Pearl Street and in the surrounding financial district, because Hartford understood that insurance is fundamentally a promise to pay — and that promise lives or dies in the claims department.
Regional carriers and MGAs process claims the same basic way they did fifteen years ago: FNOL arrives by phone or email, gets manually re-keyed into a carrier core, sits in an adjuster queue without enrichment, and gets routed based on whoever has bandwidth — not whoever has the right skill set. Reserves get set on day three. Leakage accumulates between day one and day eight. Subrogation potential goes unidentified until post-settlement, when recovery is far harder.
Nathan Brennan spent the years between 2018 and 2024 in claims technology at an insurtech, building adjuster-side tools and watching the problem from the inside. The CMS platforms — Guidewire, Duck Creek, Sapiens — were not the bottleneck. The bottleneck was the gap between intake and enrichment: the three to eight hours during which a new claim was essentially invisible. Nobody had built a layer that sat between the intake channel and the carrier core, enriching files automatically before an adjuster touched them.
Claimflint is that layer. Built for the regional carriers, MGAs, captives, and specialty lines carriers that process tens of thousands of claims per year — the segment that makes up the majority of U.S. P&C market volume but doesn't have the in-house claims technology infrastructure of a national direct writer.
Claimflint is not a carrier and does not underwrite policies. We automate the claims handling workflow — the file work, the enrichment, the routing — so your adjusters can spend their time on the decisions that require judgment, not on moving data between systems.
Our Mission
Every claim that takes 11 days instead of 6 is money a carrier didn't need to spend — and a policyholder left waiting. We're here to fix the middle layer.Nathan Brennan, Founder & CEO, Claimflint
